So, what’s with all the sayings involving cats anyhow? Surprisingly, it’s been going on longer than I thought. Apparently throughout time, folks either loved the cat, or they disliked it so much they used the cat in their rotten sayings. Such as: (3)The origin of “fraidy cat” is unknown. It was used as early as 1871.

Maybe you could come up with an original saying involving the cat. If you do, post it in the comments. I’d love to hear it!
So, which side of the fence are you on? Love the cat, or don’t love the cat? Either way, there’s a surprising number of sayings involving the CAT.
