Whether you’re familiar with this quote or not (and if you’re not into Star Wars you won’t know this one), it has both a positive and negative meaning. On the surface, it means just do it. Or don’t. Whatever it is that you need to do. This saying doesn’t leave room for any middle ground. Which can be a good way to be. Focused, not wish-washy, decisive in your plans and actions, etc.
On the other hand, this quote could also mean by saying “there is no try”, that you shouldn’t even try. It’s almost saying that if you can’t get it done, then don’t even bother to try. Now let’s not go down that rabbit hole! Instead, let’s remember that it’s ALWAYS better to try and fail, than to never try at all. All the best philosophers and educated minds throughout the centuries have agreed that it’s always better to try. How else will you find out whether you like something, or are good at something, if you never try?
The great hockey player Wayne Gretzky once said,
That’s a fact jack! Someone else once said, “If you shoot for the moon and fall miserably short, you’ll still catch a star.” Poetic, right? Even more than poetic, it’s absolute TRUTH!
So my precious friend, what opportunities are you facing? What shots are you wanting to go for? What goals and dreams are you wanting to pursue? Isn’t it time to get out of your own way, forget the fears and TRY?
Yes, you might fail.
Yes, you might not achieve what you’re after.
But then again………..what if you do?
The possibilities are truly endless.
Very helpful right now! Thanks!
