It literally takes a person 43 muscles to form a frown, yet only 17 muscles to make a smile. So why then, are we working our faces so hard to make a frown? Beats me!
I’ve decided I’m going to smile even when there isn’t anything great or exceptionally happy going on in my life. And then I noticed something extraordinary started happening. My attitude began changing for the better. Apparently, how you wear your face impacts how you feel and think. Go figure! I never would’ve thought that to be true, but there it is. The truth was right in front of me, undeniable. What will you do with that truth? My plan is to tell a joke or two and get the smiles rolling…….and here goes……..
What do you get when you grill a Barbie doll?………..a Barbieque!
What is brown and sticky? ……………………….a stick!
(here’s a gross one) Why was Tigger always sticking his head in the toilet? ………… He was looking for Pooh!
When do mother’s birth baby boys?…………………………………….on sondays!
Last one, so here goes……………………….
Why was the water fountain taken to court? ……………for being drunk in a public place!
There really IS alot to smile about, much more than you think. Ok, ok, maybe not these corny jokes, (lol) but if you think about it for a minute you can find something to smile about. And you look SO much better with a smile-trust me.
Smiling FEELS good doesn’t it? Absolutely! Wouldn’t you rather smile than frown, and give your face a break in all that straining of it’s 43 muscles to frown? Think of something good, or something that makes you laugh or smile. What makes you smile is different than what makes me smile, which is GREAT! My sense of funny is different than a million other people, and what you think is funny is different than a million other people. But that doesn’t matter, just so long as you find it funny, or smile-worthy.
So let’s get the smiles rolling, even when we don’t feel good, or have pain, or aren’t happy with a family member or co-worker, or we don’t want to get up and go to work, or our car won’t start, etc. You know the rest. Our circumstances don’t have to break our face if we choose to smile anyways. That’s a choice. If nothing can make you smile due to your circumstances, then grab a joke book, or go online and look up funniest one-liners, or funny animals or babies, and give yourself a smile break! Your face will thank you for it!
