Have you ever heard the phrase, “Today is a new day!” The real truth behind that phrase is that it truly IS a new day. Each new day is another chance to start over, redo things, make something great, refresh your view, or simply enjoy the opportunity of a “never-before-having-lived-this-day”! Woohoo!
George Bernard Shaw once said “We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.”
I think that’s a wonderful attitude to have in life. Playtime. Today is a great day for some playtime, which keeps us young. We all need some on a regular basis. It refreshes us, helps us not to be so wound up and serious, AND it’s been said time and time again that laughter is the BEST medicine. Playtime has been prescribed by Doctors for years, mostly to adults who are overstressed or over worked. And it’s valuable advice. What do you like to do for ‘playtime’?
Do you like card games like Canasta or Go Fish, or maybe table top games like Monopoly, Chess, Pictionary?
Perhaps you prefer more outdoorsy types of playtime like a neighborhood game of soccer or catch football? Or do you like a relaxing time of flying a kite, rollerblading, or mountain biking? No matter what your particular flare for playtime is, make sure you get some in on a regular basis. (Daily or at the very least, weekly)
Life is too short not to enjoy it.
Relax, have some playtime and smile. Your blood pressure, cholesterol, anxiety/nerves, and a host of other health factors will thank you for it!
And make today a GREAT day!
