Everyone has a power song.
Rocky Balboa(the fictional boxer) had a power song. Superman had one. Ironman (& all the other super heroes) have theirs. Even the President of the United States has a power song. You know the one they play whenever he’s entering a rally or some other large conference or arena. And of course, the Miss America pageant has a power song as well. Why is that?
Because it’s a scientific fact that a ‘power song’ or other rallying type song can lift your spirits, encourage you, help your brain and heart to heal from trauma, neglect, abuses, and the disappointment life can throw your way. We all need to be picked up, dusted off, and told we can make it. That we can do it. That we really can win this. And a ‘fight song’ helps us do just that!
A fight song doesn’t mean it only talks about fighting(although it can). A really good fight song is one that helps to encourage you, rally your spirits, or remind you this is just one moment in time. it’s not the end and you’ve still got good to do. It reminds us there is more inside each of us that we can draw upon to continue this journey or struggle.
What’s your struggle?
We all have them and we all need support and encouragement when it gets tough. I’ve included this “Champion” song to encourage you! (Don’t forget to share this newsletter with others that can use some smiles and encouragement.)
I’m here to remind you that yes, YOU CAN HAVE THE VICTORY!!
I also want to remind you that smiles can help wipe away garbage in our lives. In one of my previous newsletters, I wrote about the effects of smiling on our brains, body, & health. If you don’t remember it (or didn’t get that one), go back and look in my archives to re-read it. It’s worth reading again! You have SO MUCH inside of you that’s worth getting to know, and worth spending time with. That’s smile-worthy talk right there! :) And to keep on task of getting you to smile, here’s a little (corny)joke for you: A dog with a bandaged foot limped into town one day. The Sheriff asked him, “What brings you to Dawson City today?” The dog replied, “I’m looking for the man that shot my paw.” And one more, Seven days showed up in the Doctor’s office. “What are you doing here?” asked the doctor. “Well”, they replied, “We’re feeling week.”
SMILE!
