When you get frustrated with inconveniences, think of a friend or family member who would give anything to trade places with you. There’s almost always someone who’s circumstances make yours look better. It’s true. Perspective is a mighty strong game changer. Here’s a few examples of using the best perspective:
Example: Joe-Bob has cancer and is stuck in the hospital all day for chemo treatments. He doesn’t like being there, but he’s grateful he’s still alive and can go home after the treatment is done. Perspective.
Example: Casey planted flowers this spring and is glad they finally started to grow, until the neighbors dog dug them up. Turns out, he was after a poisonous snake that could have hurt Casey & her kids. The dog’s noise and digging made it choose to live elsewhere, although Casey never found out about the snake. The neighbors dog knows the truth, he saved her! Casey can be grateful that there had to be a good “reason” the dog was determined to go after her flower bed, and not that he was a bad dog. Perspective.
There’s a few other words that help us understand perspective accurately. How about mindset, angle, attitude, view point, objectivity, context. These can help us understand that our “mindset” or “attitude” about everything makes all the difference as to whether we have a good day or bad. Whether we have joy or not. And whether we treat others kind enough for them to choose us as friends, or not.
Face it- NO ONE can handle being around someone who only talks about the negative in life ALL the time. So maybe it’s time to lighten up and focus on the positive in life. Really focus, concentrate, and get your positive “viewpoint”. That’s not to say disappointment, or even bad won’t happen. BUT- if you only focus on those things, you’ll stop seeing the good things. And there are hundreds, if not thousands of good things happening all around you, and TO YOU. You can be happier, more joyful. But that won’t happen even if your circumstances change, until and unless you change your PERSPECTIVE.
WHAT DO YOU SEE?
It all depends on your perspective.
You can be happy in the worst job or atmosphere, OR you can be unhappy as the wealthiest person on earth. It’s all about perspective. Choose a good one. It will make you better, happier! And to help you in in that perspective or “Attitude”, here’s some corny jokes for you to pass along!
