Do you ever think that your light to the world, that is, your impact or contribution, is small? Then you are NOT alone! Check out these world-changers who also felt that their impact was too small. Recognize any of them?
Henry Dunant. He traveled to Italy in 1859 and was appalled by the tragedies he witnessed happening to the wounded from the war. He petitioned leaders to take better care of their wounded, and to allow those trying to help them to be safe from attacks. By simply having compassion, he formed the first Geneva Convention in 1864. But that’s not all! He also formed the first International Committee of the Red Cross in 1863 to help the wounded. His light was small to himself, but his impact became a big difference to hundreds of thousands all over the world and throughout time, even to today.

To date, his blood has saved over two million people! A small light, or act by James, became a BIG difference in millions of lives.

These people didn’t set out to save people’s lives, nor to change the world in the ways that they did. But by being themselves, and doing what they felt to be right, they DID change the world! Their impact, or light, their contribution to the world, made a HUGE difference in other people’s lives!
You might think or feel that your light is small. That it doesn’t make a difference to anyone. Maybe you feel like no one would notice if you weren’t there. But TRUST ME when I say, that YOU make a HUGE difference to people all around you. And you can continue to see the great impact you have by being you to others in your life. Do you have a talent, a skill, a special quality that you can share with others? Do you, like me, have a quirky sense of humor that helps others to smile(and others to cringe)? Then SHARE IT! No matter what your “small light” is, it’s meant to be SHARED. It’s not meant to keep it to yourself. What you do might in fact be a “small light”, but you can never truly know the huge difference it can make to someone else. Let the world around you see your greatness in your “small light”.
