Just a minute, I need a smile here.
Ok, so I’ve never seen the movie that this tagline comes from. Maybe you have, maybe you haven’t. But like so many famous one-liner movie quotes, the origin of it isn’t as important as to where and how it’s being used now. And that’s where the FUN comes in!
Have you ever said this to someone, anyone? Have you ever tried saying it in a funny tone or unusual accent? Ok, so here’s your assignment for this week. Try this on someone who has a good sense of humor, and see if it doesn’t elicit a smile. Or at the very least, a smirk. Using different accents, tones, or voices has the same effect as when we were kids and watched Saturday cartoons, where good ole Bugs bunny came out with a funny voice or accent to mess with the hunter!
We loved that! It made us smile. Some of us even laughed the first time we saw that(I confess, I laughed). This week is your chance to pass on that silliness to someone else. Maybe they NEED a smile or two! Try your best cowboy drawl, or use an uppity french waiter voice. Who knows? You might just be the light in someone’s darkness this week. Smiling is good.
